Shin Inouye

Shin Inouye is currently the Director of Specialty Media in the White House Office of Communications. In that capacity, he serves as the communications officer for a variety of specialty media outlets, including: LGBT, AAPI, Native Americans, Veterans and Military Families, Youth/College, Faith, Rural and Ethnic. As an official spokesperson for the White House, Inouye handles incoming media inquiries regarding those groups and targeted outreach to specialty media.
Prior to his position in the White House, Inouye was a spokesperson for the Obama-Biden Presidential Inaugural Committee. Before that, he was the Constituency Communications Coordinator at the Obama for America campaign. Prior to the Obama campaign, Inouye was the Communications Director for Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-8). Before his experience on the Hill, Inouye was the Senior Legislative Communications Associate at the Washington Legislative Office of the American Civil Liberties Union.
He graduated with departmental honors from the Johns Hopkins University, with a degree in political science.
