Last week, the Administration issued the second annual place-based policy guidance as part of the preparation for the FY 2012 budget, building on last year's efforts to take a comprehensive look at how federal policy impact places and the people who live there.

Yesterday, HUD Secretary Donovan announced the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning grant, building on the work and success of the Sustainable Communities Partnership. These efforts are prime examples of President Obama's broader urban and metropolitan agenda that aims to break down traditional government silos and leverage resources to invest in cities and metros in a comprehensive and integrated way.
