Tom Kalil, OSTP’s Deputy Director for Policy, was invited to be a panelist on NPR’s Science Friday last week. Kalil joined host Ira Flatow and several other guests in a discussion of the recent rollout of President Obama’s 2011 Budget, focusing on the science, research, and development portfolio.

During the 43 minute program the panelists discussed how science made out in the 2011 Budget (hint, it did very well!). Additionally, the conversation centered on the major U.S. scientific institutions and the affects the budget will have on a myriad of issues, including research, alternative energy, and space exploration.
