HHS Partnership Center Attends Mary's Center Back to School Health Fair
Families sample healthy fare at the Mary’s Center Back to School Drive. August 20, 2010. (by Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at HHS)
The HHS Partnership Center participated in the Back to School Fair along with representatives from USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Text4Baby, and other partners. Over 250 parents and children also received free dental screenings, medical exams, and vaccinations, as well as school supplies.
Local chefs gave cooking demonstrations and tips for nutritious lunch box options, and kids enjoyed face painting. Everyone left with a smile on their face and great tools for good health
Alexia Kelley is the Director of the HHS Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
