While the Vice President was in Guatemala to discuss investing in Central America. That's February 27 to March 5 or, "Just a Souvenir!"

Friday, February 27

  • The President and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, discussed the ongoing Ebola response and the region’s economic recovery plans.
  • The President imparted some wisdom to mentees of his program, My Brother’s Keeper.
  • The President spoke at the Department of Justice for Eric Holder’s departure ceremony.

Monday, March 2

  • The President met with his Task Force on 21st Century Policing to discuss how law enforcement and communities can work together to build trust and keep us safe.
  • The Vice President and Dr. Biden traveled to Guatemala to discuss the “Alliance for Prosperity” plan with Central American leaders.

Tuesday, March 3

  • The President met with Secretary of Defense Ash Carter to talk about his recent trip to Afghanistan.
  • The President and First Lady championed their Let Girls Learn initiative.
  • Dr. Biden traveled to the countryside of Guatemala to visit a Wakami workspace.
  • The Vice President stopped by a local municipal office in Guatemala and met with children participating in a Karate program funded by anti-violence efforts.

Thursday, March 5

  • The President celebrated the one-year anniversary of his My Brother’s Keeper initiative.
