Luis Miranda
Director of Hispanic Media

As Director of Hispanic Media, Luis Miranda leads the White House’s unprecedented efforts to reach out to Hispanic media nationally, coordinating with all federal agencies on promoting the President’s agenda with the Hispanic community. Miranda serves as a spokesperson and also develops strategic messaging on immigration and border security issues, and integrates Hispanic media outreach into crisis communications efforts. As part of his duties, Miranda also works with the President's National Security Staff on media outreach relevant to America's relationships with Latin America. Prior to serving at the White House, Miranda was Deputy Communications Director at the Democratic National Committee, where he oversaw the national Party’s regional and specialty media outreach and coordinated with state parties nationwide on the Democratic Party’s messaging. Before that, Miranda worked for John Kerry’s presidential campaign serving as a spokesperson and launching the campaign’s online communications program. Miranda has also worked with organized labor at the Service Employees International Union’s (SEIU) Florida State Council, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and on campaigns at the local and state level. He also served as the Miami-Dade Field Director for the 2000 Gore-Lieberman coordinated campaign in Florida, including on operations related to the Florida recount.
