David Meek, High School Science Teacher, Marble Hill School for International Studies

David Meek is a high school science teacher at the Marble Hill School for International Studies in the Bronx. David has worked as a New York City Public School teacher for six years and teaches Environmental Science, Living Environment, Health, and Advanced Placement Biology.  He moved to New York City to attend the Peace Corps Fellows Program at Teachers College, Columbia University, where he earned his MA in Secondary Science Education: 7-12.  His Peace Corps service in Tanzania (2002-2004) allowed him to teach secondary school biology and work on public health projects in his village.  David is currently working on his SBL certification through the Scaffolded Apprenticeship Model (SAM) thanks to a generous scholarship from New Visions for Public Schools and Baruch College.  He represented Bronx educators in the 2011 New York City Marathon's Footlocker Five borough Challenge.
