Jerome Taylor is a 30 year employee and CEO of MFA Oil, a farmer owned energy cooperative headquartered in Columbia, Missouri. MFA Oil is owned by 40,000 farmers with the mission of improving the economic well-being of its farmer members through the distribution of energy and energy related products. MFA Oil entered the renewable fuels markets in the 1960’s when it purchased an ethanol plant to make gasohol, and currently invests in oil refining and biodiesel production. MFA Oil is the seventh largest propane retailer in the U.S. MFA Oil Biomass, a partnership with Aloterra Energy, was started in 2011 to capitalize on the unique qualities of miscanthus giganteous as an energy crop. Miscanthus is a non-invasive perennial that needs moderate inputs, grows on marginal ground, is carbon neutral, and produces significant tonnage per acre. Taylor is on the board of National Cooperative Refinery Association and Mid America Biofuels.
