It enables cities and counties to feed their open data into a free, prepackaged, customizable suite of apps. Governments simply adjust the settings based on the open data they have to offer. In the spirit of YouTube, YouTown aims to be a single, recognizable place for utilizing open data from all local governments. Citizen end-users can adjust their settings to receive only the data they want. YouTown has strong potential to appeal to governments because it offers them creative control without requiring them to program apps from scratch.
