Health - Data Collection and Dissemination

This program supports research for health care services. Research activities cover a broad range of health policy issues, including cost and quality of health services, medical practice patterns, access to health care programs, and outcomes of treatments at the national, state, and local market levels.

Moderately Effective

In general, a program rated Moderately Effective has set ambitious goals and is well-managed. Moderately Effective programs likely need to improve their efficiency or address other problems in the programs' design or management in order to achieve better results.
  • By maintaining a centralized health database, the program continues to achieve wider access to effective health care services and reduce health care costs. Annually, it builds upon the number of partners contributing to the databases and continuously works to reduce the amount of time between final data collection and data availability to the public.
  • The program has increased its performance-based contracting to further improve its performance. Performance-based contracting emphasizes objective, measurable requirements and quality standards for how the work is to be performed.
  • Where feasible, the program must continue to work towards reducing the amount of time that data is made available to the public.
