By tracking performance on key financial indicators, Congress, financial managers, and other stakeholders can assess the overall financial management health of the Federal Government. For example: Are Federal agencies meeting their goals to reduce unreconciled balances, increasing the use of electronic funds transfers, and reducing delinquent accounts receivables? Tracking indicators of such performance helps to guide financial management reforms and target resources to areas where better stewardship of Federal financial resources is needed.
