White House Schedule - April 17, 2013

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

At noon, the President and the Vice President will meet with Secretary of the Treasury Lew. This meeting in the Oval Office is closed press.

At 2:45 PM, the Vice President will participate in a live Google+ Hangout with mayors from across the country to discuss reducing gun violence. Mayors including Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, Gary, IN; Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Baltimore, MD; Mayor R.T. Rybak, Minneapolis, MN; and Mayor Steve Scaffidi, Oak Creek, WI, will join the conversation virtually. The event will be streamed live at http://whitehouse.gov/live.

In the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will welcome the Wounded Warrior Project’s Soldier Ride to the White House in celebration of the seventh annual Soldier Ride.  A cycling event to help Wounded Warriors restore their physical and emotional well-being, the Soldier Ride also raises awareness of our nation’s Wounded Warriors who battle the physical and psychological damages of war. The President’s remarks on the South Lawn are open press.

The President will deliver a statement on commonsense measures to reduce gun violence in the Rose Garden. The President’s remarks will be open press.

In the evening, the President will have dinner with Democratic Senators at the Jefferson Hotel. The travel pool will accompany but the dinner is closed press.
