President Obama to Travel to Oregon, Visit Intel’s STEM Program

The President Will Discuss the Importance of Out-Educating Our Competitors in Order to Win the Future

WASHINGTON - On Friday, February 18, 2011, President Obama will visit Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon.  While there, he will tour the world’s most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility with Intel CEO Paul Otellini. The President will also learn more about Intel’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs and Intel’s efforts to better prepare the next generation to compete for high-tech jobs and be the minds behind the next great inventions. 

In his State of the Union, President Obama outlined a plan for winning the future by preparing our children to be competitive in the global economy.  His plan calls for key investments in education to grow the economy and create more jobs.
