Declaración del Presidente sobre la Confirmación de Thomas Pérez como el próximo Secretario del Trabajo

Recibo con beneplácito la confirmación de hoy de Tom Pérez para servir como Secretario del Trabajo. Thomas ha vivido el sueño americano, y ha dedicado su carrera a conservarlo para las familias trabajadoras en todo el país. En el Departamento del Trabajo, Tom nos ayudará a continuar creciendo nuestra economía, ayudará a las empresas a crear trabajos, se asegurará de que los trabajadores tengan las habilidades que esos trabajos requieren y garantizará que lugares de trabajo sean seguros y que existan oportunidades económicas para todos.

Agradezco al Senado una vez más por coincidir en aprobar a Tom y a los otros candidatos que han esperado demasiado tiempo para votos a favor o en contra que se merecen.

Statement from the President on the Confirmation of Tom Perez as the next Secretary of Labor

I welcome today’s confirmation of Tom Perez to serve as Secretary of Labor.  Tom has lived the American dream himself, and has dedicated his career to keeping it within reach for hardworking families across the country.  At the Department of Labor, Tom will help us continue to grow our economy, help businesses create jobs, make sure workers have the skills those jobs require, and ensure safe workplaces and economic opportunity for all.

I want to thank the Senate once again for agreeing to move forward on Tom and the other nominees who have waited far too long for the yes-or-no votes they deserve.
