Readout of Vice President Biden's Call with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala

The Vice President spoke by phone today with President Ollanta Humala of Peru.  The two leaders noted the importance of U.S.-Peru relations and reviewed progress on joint commitments from President Humala’s June 2013 visit to Washington, including their agreement to finalize the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations this year.  They also discussed a range of bilateral issues, including economic cooperation and partnership efforts to promote citizen security in the Western Hemisphere.  The Vice President also reaffirmed that the United States remains a committed friend and partner of Peru and looks forward to further deepening cooperation.
