September is National Preparedness Month and a great opportunity for your household, business, or community to focus on preparedness.  It is recommended that all Americans have an emergency supply kit and an emergency plan, and be informed about the different emergencies that can happen in their area and the appropriate responses. 
Getting prepared can be as easy as following these steps:
