Valerie Jarrett's Editorial on the Paycheck Fairness Act

Summary:
Read about the Council on Women and Girls' thoughts regarding the Paycheck Fairness Act.

This morning, Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President and Chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls, wrote an editorial about the Paycheck Fairness Act.  The piece, featured in the Washington Post, discusses how today working women are still only paid 77 cents for every dollar earned by a man- even when they have similar levels of experience and education. This inequality is unacceptable and Equal Pay remains a priority for the Council on Women and Girls and the Obama Administration. Valerie wrote: “The time to act is now, as America cannot move forward, prosperous and faithful to its ideals, if the pay gap is allowed to persist for another 50 years. This act is not only good for women; it’s good for working families, for business, and for the American economy.” Please read and share Valerie's full editorial Closing the wage gap: It's a matter of survival for working families.
