Maybe you work in the tech sector. Perhaps your firm has clients with a big internet presence. Maybe you're a class parent or scout leader. That's why you'll want to know about the Net Cetera Community Outreach Toolkit, a free resource just released by OnGuardOnline.gov.
Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Jon Leibowitz recently joined FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and Deputy Secretary of Education Anthony Wilder Miller to announce the availability of the Net Cetera Community Outreach Toolkit. The toolkit can help you reach your colleagues, your customers, your kids, and your friends and neighbors with important and practical information about helping kids stay safe online. The toolkit also offers tips on dealing with cyberbullies, as well as with texting, file sharing, and using mobile phones.
Toolkit contents include:
- Chatting with Kids About Being Online, a guide for parents
- Heads Up, information for kids
- Videos presentation slides and notes for parents and for kids
- Ideas to help you give the talk about being safe online
All the materials are in English and Spanish on CD and DVD. The toolkit materials are free and in the public domain.
