A Recovery Month Video Message from Commandant Zukunft and Director Botticelli

Summary:
This September marks the 26th National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, when we celebrate the millions of Americans in recovery.

This September marks the 26th National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, when we celebrate the millions of Americans in recovery. Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard Paul Zukunft  and National Drug Control Policy Director Michael Botticelli came together to talk about the importance of treatment and recovery.

Many families and communities in America are affected by substance use disorders, yet those striving to overcome this disease are too often hidden in the shadows of shame or stigma. As a result, many do not get the treatment they need.

During Recovery Month we encourage individuals to begin a conversation about recovery.

On September 17th, we will host a Recovery Month conversation online with young adults in recovery across the country. To get involved, register here.
