On Wednesday, August 24, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the State of New Mexico by authorizing an increase in the level of Federal funding for debris removal and emergency protective measures undertaken in the State of New Mexico as a result of wildfires, straight-line winds, flooding, mudflows, and debris flows during the period of April 5 to July 23, 2022.
 
On June 27, 2022, the President amended his declaration of May 4, 2022, and authorized Federal funds for debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, at 100 percent of the total eligible costs for a 90-day period from the date of declaration.
 
Under the President’s order today, the time period for 100 percent Federal funding for debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, has been extended for an additional 90-day period from August 3, 2022 through November 1, 2022 for Mora and San Miguel Counties.
