Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer and Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman co-chaired a U.S.-Colombia High-Level Roundtable yesterday at the White House with the participation of representatives from the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The Colombian delegation was led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Alvaro Leyva and included Minister of Defense Ivan Velasquez and other senior Colombian government officials. During the roundtable, senior officials from the United States and Colombian government discussed the importance of the bilateral relationship and our countries’ continued cooperation on security and law enforcement, counternarcotics, and migration issues.
