Brian Bosto serves as the Brookston Center Manager for the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Previously, he held the position of Youth Coordinator of the Sawyer Community Center, and was nominated to the Blandin Foundation Reservation Leadership Program in 2008-2009. In 2010, he spearheaded efforts to bring the traditional Native American sport of Lacrosse back to his community, by implementing an annual, week-long “Lax-4-Life” Lacrosse Camp for the Tribal Communities of Minnesota and Wisconsin. The camp was not just about the sport of lacrosse, but also included classroom sessions that built leadership skills, healthy decision making, nutrition knowledge, and physical fitness. Brian has an ability to connect both traditional Ojibwe culture with modern society, and his efforts are making a healthy difference among American Indian youth in his region.
