Evan Wessel joined the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs after serving as Deputy Director at the Democratic Mayors Association. Previously, Wessel was the Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs Director for Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign. Prior to that, he worked as the National Outreach Director and Policy Advisor for United for Infrastructure, a coalition of over 500 organization led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the AFL-CIO. He also worked as the City Engagement Director for Accelerator for America, a non-profit founded by former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. Wessel served in the Obama-Biden Administration in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Labor. He graduated from the University of Delaware and shortly after interned in then-Vice President Biden’s Office of Legislative Affairs.
