Penny Pritzker, JD, MBA, is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, and civic leader who served as the 38th U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
• While Secretary of Commerce, launched and managed the Manufacturing USA network of 16 regional innovation hubs; managed the $4.2 billion broadband deployment program for unserved and underserved areas; administered President Obama’s Commission on Enhancing Cybersecurity and oversaw the voluntary Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity; created the agency’s first ever skilled workforce initiative; and led the successful completion of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.
• Served as a member of the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board and Council on Jobs and Competitiveness during the Obama-Biden administration.
• Chairman of the Board of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, co-chair of the Cyber Readiness Institute and founder of Skills for America’s Future and P33, an effort to make Chicago into a top-tier inclusive technology hub.
• Founded and built a multitude of businesses over the course of her career and serves on the boards of several technology companies.
