Message from the White House
August 31, 2013
Hi, everybody. Over the past several weeks, the President has traveled across America to talk about what we need to do as a country to secure a better bargain for the middle class, which includes ensuring a good job for anyone who is willing to work hard.
Hard work is the bedrock of our country. Responsibility. Sacrifice. Looking out for one another. And giving everyone a chance to succeed. Every day Latinos help to strengthen our vibrant and diverse work force. Latinos work in industries that have shown strong growth and added a million jobs to our economy in recent years.
While there is more work to be done, we are making progress to widen the circle of opportunity for the Hispanic community and keep the American dream within reach for all who seek it.
On this Labor Day it is important to honor the working men and women of America – so on behalf of the President and myself, thank you for all the work that you do to ensure that America’s best days are yet to come.
Thank you and have a great weekend.
