Readout of the President’s Call with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman

The President spoke with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman earlier today following the Vice President's call with the Sultan on August 27.  The President thanked the Sultan for the Omani government's efforts to secure the release on September 20 of two American citizens from their detention in Yemen.  He also thanked the Sultan for his continued assistance in addressing the conflict in Yemen.  Both the President and the Sultan reiterated their commitment to pursuing a negotiated diplomatic solution to the conflict and responding to Yemen's dire humanitarian crisis.
