Statement by the Press Secretary on H.R. 1493 and H.R. 2908

On Monday, May 9, 2016, the President signed into law:

H.R. 1493, the "Protect and Preserve International Cultural Property Act," which directs the President to exercise his authority to impose import restrictions with respect to archeological or ethnological material of Syria; and

H.R. 2908, the "National Bison Legacy Act," which adopts the North American bison as the national mammal of the United States.
