Statement by the Press Secretary on H.R. 3969, S. 1579

On Friday, September 23, 2016, the President signed into law:

H.R. 3969, which designates the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Laughlin, Nevada, as the Master Chief Petty Officer Jesse Dean VA Clinic; and

S. 1579, the “Native American Tourism and Improving Visitor Experience Act,” which requires the Departments of Commerce and the Interior, and other Federal agencies with recreational travel or tourism functions, to update their management plans and tourism initiatives to include Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and Native Hawaiian organizations.
