Ari Alexander at USAID Receives Presidential Recognition Award

On Monday, December 6, the President recognized five outstanding political appointees making change not only in their agencies but also across federal government.  Included in this distinguished group is our very own Ari Alexander, Deputy Director for the Office of Faith-based & Community Initiatives at USAID. Ari was nominated by an agency senior personnel committee, selected by White House Presidential Personnel Office, and met with the President in the Oval Office.

Ari has helped drive one of Administrator Shah’s top priorities – reforming our procurement policies in order to build more sustainable local capacity. Ari organized perhaps the most important first step in this reform effort: Seeing the lack of baseline data, he assembled a team of researchers and created and managed a data analysis exercise involving the detailed coding of hundreds of thousands of pieces of data. The data his team discovered gave USAID leadership the evidence and baseline it needed to set ambitious reform targets.

We are very proud of this achievement and Ari’s commitment to public service!
