Partnership for Sustainable Communities Marks Three Years Helping Communities Build a Foundation for Prosperity
Posted by on June 29, 2012 at 6:10 PM EDTIn 2009, President Obama challenged three agencies to help communities around the country better meet their housing, transportation, and environmental goals, laying the groundwork for an economy that provides good jobs now and creates a strong foundation for long-term prosperity. A partnership between the DOT, HUD, and EPA has now funded 744 projects in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico with approximately $3.7 billion in assistance.

Faith-Based Group Rebuilds Alabama Church Following 2011 Tornadoes

But members of an Ohio Mennonite congregation stepped in to help rebuild, finding housing at a congregation in Boligee that, possibly due to racial tension, had been burned down in 1996 and rebuilt.
