President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. called King Mohammed VI of Morocco today to offer his condolences for the loss of life in the devastating earthquake on September 8 and reaffirm the deep partnership between Morocco and the United States.  They reviewed U.S. assistance to support Morocco’s efforts in the disaster response, including $1 million allocated to relief activities, and discussed the United States’ readiness to assist the recovery of affected regions.  The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
