THE OFFENSE
The BBC released a doctored video of President Trump’s speech on January 6th, 2021.
THE TRUTH
By the BBC’s own admission, the broadcaster edited the speech in a misleading manner that “gave the mistaken impression that President Trump had made a direct call for violent action.” The bogus video led to the ouster of (now former) BBC Director-General Tim Davie and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness. It also led to BBC Chair Samir Shah sending a personal letter to the White House apologizing on behalf of the BBC for the deceitful video edit.
KEY POINTS
• The BBC deceptively edited a video to misrepresent President Trump’s statements and help craft a narrative opposing him.
SOURCES
• BBC apologizes to Trump over its misleading edit, but says there’s no basis for a defamation claim
• Panorama – Trump: A Second Chance?
• BBC director general and News CEO resign over Trump documentary edit

Margherita Stancati and Gavin Bade, reporters for the Wall Street Journal, published an article and claimed Italian pasta would “disappear” from American grocery stores.
THE TRUTH
This is an exaggerated lie. These potential anti-dumping tariffs would only affect 16% percent of Italian pasta imports, so it’s ludicrous to assert that Italian pasta is “poised to disappear.” Even then, Italian pasta makers have weeks to comply with a simple data request and have their anti-dumping tariff rate adjusted before it’s finalized in January.
KEY POINTS
• The Wall Street Journal’s Gavin Bade and Margherita Stancati lied in an effort to fearmonger against President Trump’s successful tariff policies.

Axios published an article that attempted to portray TPS recipients as “legal.”
THE TRUTH
The previous administration allowed millions of illegal aliens to flood the southern border, and enabled them to stay under the guise of temporary protected status. TPS was never meant to grant de-facto amnesty. By claiming that aliens who are in the country under TPS are “legal” Axios is misrepresenting these aliens’ immigration status.
KEY POINTS
• Axios published a story claiming aliens in the country under temporary protected status are here “legally” which is a deliberate misrepresentation.

When covering the brutal murder of a 13-year-old boy in Sun Valley, California, the Los Angeles Times omitted the fact the perpetrator was an illegal immigrant given “sanctuary status” by Los Angeles Democrats.
THE TRUTH
This is an all-too-common example of legacy media outlets omitting perpetrators’ immigration statuses in an effort to downplay the threat posed by violent illegal alien criminals.
KEY POINTS
• The LATimes intentionally mischaracterized a child-murderering illegal immigrant as a “Soccer Coach.”

• Teen allegedly killed by soccer coach died of acute alcohol poisoning, family’s attorney says
