The IPCC’s summary report makes clear that the Earth’s future is not predetermined. It underscores the urgent need for leaders in every sector and every country to step up and take bold climate action.

The Biden Administration has set the goal of cutting U.S. carbon emissions in half by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Thanks to the President’s Inflation Reduction Act — the biggest investment to tackle the climate crisis any single country has ever made — we are making important progress. But there is much more work still to do to finish the job.

This report is a call to action for the nation’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem to step up and accelerate solutions that combat climate change, mitigate and manage its impacts, and build resilience.
