The Health Outcomes team leverages science, technology, and innovation to drive improved health outcomes for all Americans. This includes efforts to promote health; prevent, manage, treat, and cure diseases and conditions; prevent the next outbreak from becoming a pandemic; improve access to and the quality of health care; and take other steps that will contribute to equitably improved health outcomes for the American people. It houses the President’s Cancer Moonshot, which the President and First Lady reignited in 2022 to accelerate progress to end cancer as we know it. The Health Outcomes team includes leaders on pandemic prevention and preparedness, neuroscience, rare diseases, the innovation ecosystem (e.g., research, development, clinical trials, regulatory and data efforts), public and population health, biosecurity, and health equity.

The team is led by Dr. Danielle Carnival, Deputy Assistant to the President for the Cancer Moonshot and OSTP Deputy Director for Health Outcomes.
