NEVER SURRENDER: Karoline Leavitt’s Historic Tenure as White House Press Secretary

Today, Karoline Leavitt completes her final day as the 36th White House Press Secretary — the youngest person to ever hold the position and among the best ever to do it. She leaves the James S. Brady Briefing Room after a tenure defined by command, clarity, and an unrelenting defense of President Donald J. Trump and the America First agenda.

President Trump called her “one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office” — and that’s the legacy she leaves behind.

Here are only a few of our favorite moments:

  • She refused to let reporters turn the briefing room into a stage for activism: “You’re a left-wing hack. You’re not a reporter. You’re posing in this room as a journalist… You and the people in the media who have such biases but fake like you’re a journalist — you shouldn’t even be sitting in that seat.”
  • She rejected questions that didn’t deserve the dignity of longer replies: “What a stupid question.”
  • She responded with facts: “All of them — because they illegally broke our nation’s laws and therefore, they are criminals.”
  • She declared this Administration would not be lectured by those who failed the country: “We are not going to be lectured about national security and American troops by Democrats and the mainstream media, who turned the other cheek when the Biden Administration, because of their incompetence, left 13 service members dead in Afghanistan and not a single person in the previous Administration was held accountable.”
  • She drew a red line on this Administration’s personnel and purpose: “He identifies pregnant women as ‘pregnant people,’ so that’s not someone who we want in this Administration anyway. If people are not aligned with the President’s vision and the Secretary’s vision to make our country healthy again, then we will gladly show them the door.”
  • She dismissed a low-level French politician’s demand for the Statue of Liberty with history: “It’s only because of the United States of America that the French are not speaking German right now.”
  • She named the playbook when Democrats and their Fake News allies tried to manufacture a crisis: “If this story proves anything, it proves that Democrats and their propagandists in the mainstream media know how to fabricate, orchestrate, and disseminate a misinformation campaign quite well.”
  • She rebuked a foreign leader who attacked the United States and the President: “I saw the South African President running his mouth a little bit against the United States and the President of the United States earlier today, and that language is not appreciated by the President or his team.”
  • She documented the Democrat Crime Crisis with the record, not spin: “There is crime in all states but… if you look at the list of the top 20 high-crime cities in the United States, every single one, with the exception of one, is run by a Democrat.”
  • She exposed the media’s complicity in the Biden cover-up: “I can tell you there was certainly a lack of transparency from the former President, from the entire former Administration, and frankly, a lot of people in this room when it came to the health and the competence of the former President of the United States, Joe Biden. There was one of the greatest coverups and, frankly, political scandals this nation has ever seen.”
  • She spoke directly to Americans abandoned by failed Democrat leadership: “This is our message to Americans in Democrat-run cities nationwide: decline is a choice. You don’t have to live in constant fear of being robbed, raped, or murdered. Your leaders are lying to you — and they have been failing you for decades.”
  • She rejected, without hesitation, suggestions that President Trump stood on weaker moral ground than the Iranian regime: “The President absolutely has the moral high ground over the Iranian terrorist regime — and for you to even suggest otherwise is, frankly, insulting.”
  • She exposed the endless hypocrisy of the Radical Left: “I would just say a strong message to Democrats who are out there pretending to be outraged about the long list of crap that this Administration is cutting — federal waste in funding, like $2 million for sex changes in Guatemala, $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt… Democrats are outraged that the American people want their tax dollars going to good uses, not stuff like this — but then they’re very quiet about the fact that there are still North Carolinians and people in California who have lost everything and in the last four years the federal government did nothing to help them.”
  • She delayed maternity leave after the attempted assassination targeting President Trump: “As I told many of you on Friday afternoon, I thought that would be my last time taking your questions until after my maternity leave — but given the attempted assassination of the President… I felt it was prudent to be here today to answer your questions.”
  • She opened the briefing room to new media — and made clear this White House would take questions from anyone: “It’s essential to our team that we share President Trump’s message everywhere.”
  • She welcomed children into the briefing room on Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day — and answered them with the same honesty she brought to the press corps: “I think the most fun part about my job is doing things like this with all of you in the briefing room and answering so many great questions. I think the hardest part of my job is also doing things like this in the briefing room!”
  • And when a question deserved nothing more, she gave it nothing more: “You’re kidding, right?”

Karoline Leavitt truly set a new standard for the White House Press Secretary. She fought for the facts, defended the America First agenda, and never, ever surrendered.
