President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology

About PCAST

The President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) brings together the Nation’s foremost luminaries in science and technology to advise the President and provide recommendations on strengthening American leadership in science and technology.

President Donald J. Trump established PCAST through Executive Order 14177 and appointed the first members of his PCAST in March 2026. PCAST is co-chaired by David Sacks, former Special Advisor for AI & Crypto, and Michael Kratsios, Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

PCAST may be composed of up to 24 members who are appointed by the President. Individual members serve without compensation and provide leading expertise on emerging technologies such as super intelligence (SI), quantum, nuclear, and biotechnology. PCAST members advise the President on the opportunities and challenges introduced by these technologies to ensure all Americans thrive in this New Golden Age of Science and Innovation. Since President Franklin D. Roosevelt created his Science Advisory Board in 1933, each President has established his own advisory committee of scientists, engineers, and industry leaders.
